Fuel Water Separator Filter
We also can call fuel and water separator filter. The fuel system and components are becoming more and more complex, especially the high-pressure common rail system. A simple fuel filter is not enough. We have to work in stages. The fuel water separator filter is the main fuel separator filter of the primary fuel filter, which is used to filter water and harmful pollutants.
The engine filtration system may be full of water or other contaminants. Emulsified water or free water is always present in the fuel. Water is corrosive, fuel is lubricant. The removal of water from fuel has become a very important problem. The separation of emulsified water and free water is very important to the economic performance of any diesel engine. More functions are:
1. Remove the water entering the system during refueling. Any water in the fuel stream supports bacterial growth, which can cause clogging of the filter and the formation of corrosive acids. The sensitive components subsequently rust and corrode, resulting in corrosion and wear of critical fuel system components.
2. Protect the engine from potential fuel pollution. Make sure that the engine is running at maximum efficiency. Improve engine performance
3. Help extend the service life of fine diesel fuel filter.
4.The water filtration performance is higher than any filter, mainly to prevent water from entering this step.
5.By combining different micron filters, the service life of the original fuel rate 8 can be prolonged three times.
6.The primary fuel filter is generally unrestricted. This is because they are usually located in front of the secondary fuel filter in the fuel system and do not need to capture finer impurities. These filters mainly remove particles larger than 10 microns.

Fuel manager filter
also called gasoline filter, It is used to remove impurities in gasoline. Gasoline filter is divided into carburetor type and electronic injection type. For gasoline engine with carburetor, the gasoline filter is located at the inlet side of the oil transfer pump, with small working pressure. Generally, nylon shell is used for electronic injection engine.
Working Principle
This can be achieved by using a water separation with three stages of water separating:
In the first stage, the filter removes dirt particles and protects the coalescer from contaminants.
The second stage is the coalescence of water droplets. When the oil flow with small water drops enters a kind of “hydrophobic” filter material (such as microporous filter paper with resin content of 27-32%), because of the “affinity” of the filter media to the fuel, the oil flow will smoothly pass through the micropores of the filter material; because of the “dissimilation” performance of the filter media to the water, the small water drops will not smoothly pass through the filter media. The wetting effect of tiny water drop on the villus makes the tiny water drop stay on the villus. The number of small water drops is increasing gradually, which makes them gradually gather into large water drops. Under the action of oil pressure, water drops are pressed into the wedge-shaped channel of the fuel water separartor filter to form larger water drops. Then, under the influence of their own weight, they settle down and fall into the collecting bowl.
The third stage consists of a water bowl, which stores the last remaining droplets and directs the water flow to the drain valve. This prevents water droplets from entering the spray system.

Fuel water separator filter Media

FAQ
- Open the drain valve to drain part of the fuel.
- Remove the filter element and the water cup together with a belt wrench, and then remove the water bowl. Both the filter element and the waterbowlare standard right-hand threads, so they can be removed in the counter clockwise direction.
- Clean the water cup and oil ring. At this time, pay attention to the quality of the water cup
- Apply a thin layer of oil to the new sealing ring with grease or fuel oil, install the water bowlwith a new filter element, and then tighten it by hand. To avoid damage to the filterbowl and replacement filter, do not use tools when tightening.
- Apply a thin layer of oil to the sealing ring at the top with grease or fuel oil, install the water cup and the filter element into the joint together, and tighten them by hand.
- In order to eliminate the air in the filter element, use the priming pump at the top of the filter to add oil until oil seeps out of the filter.
- Start the engine to check for leakage, if any, stop the engine and eliminate it.
When the unfiltered fuel enters into the water separator filter, the fuel will enter through the filter paper, the big size contaminants and water will be stayed in the paper, when the water accumulate into big drops, it will flow to bottom of filter of flow out of the filter into the collecting bowl.
During the flow from the fuel tank to the engine, the fuel is more likely to be contaminated, because it is a long path and easy to produce dust and pipe rust. As a result, they are very close to the engine.
