Air Breather Filters
Hydraulic Air Breather filters whose whole name is Hydraulic oil tank air Breather valve Filter, are placed on hydraulic reservoirs tank to prevent atmospheric contamination and water from entering. Air enters the reservoir whenever the fluid level drops. This occurs during normal cycling of the machine when fluid cools down during idle periods. Hydraulic tank filters are designed to stop particles larger than 3 µm from entering the system. This is a sensible, affordable solution for any hydraulic system. It is the best complement of the hydraulic filters. They hydraulic oil tank and hydraulic pump will be broken or bad when the air breather valve filter is blocked.
Air breather filter is in the air breather valve, the valve is used to maintain a certain pressure in the tank, as well as heat dissipation. Release the pressure manually to prevent the air pressure impact when opening the oil tank. We need to put one air breather filter to filter the air in this part, you will find the suction strainers under the valve. More function of the air breather filter is:
1. Filter the air entering into the hydraulic oil tank, System protection from airborne particulate contamination and humidity. Breathe and Exhaust the air normally.
2. Direct-mounting to the tank-reservoir avoids additional piping. Prevent the dust from entering the tank. Ensure clean and dry airflow.
3. Available with lockable oil-filler-cap to prevent unauthorized access to the tank. Keep the contamination class at the desired value. Prevent the deterioration of the hydraulic oil and protect downstream valves and cylinders.
4. Protect against moisture. Prevent contamination and water from the surroundings from entering the system in connection with fluctuations of the oil level in the tank. Water has a way of sneaking into your hydraulic circuits. Air breather removes moisture at relative humidity levels as low as 15%. It can separate water before it gets in without restricting air flow, letting your hydraulic and lube oil reservoirs breathe.
5. Clean air flows in closed chambers that need to balance atmospheric pressure, such as gearboxes, high-speed running bearings, and hydraulic power packs.
6. The air breather filter ensures that there is no dangerous accumulation of pressure or vacuum due to changes in temperature or volume.
There is also another Hydraulic Oil Tank Air Cleaner also called air breather filter in hydraulic
Working Principle
The filter media consists of compressed fibers, ceramics, or sintered metal.
Air entering the filter, flows along the walls of the bowl to swirl out condensed water – which drops to the bottom of the bowl. The air then passes through the filter media, and on to the regulator and lubricator. A baffle separates the lower part of the bowl, making a quiet zone for trapped water so it won’t be picked up again.
Air filters usually do not come with a bypass check valve. When the filter becomes clogged, flow restriction increases until air flow finally stops. Pressure drops on gauges at the inlet and outlet show when to change the filter element.

FAQ
Installing the cabin air filter makes the machine more durable. It can also be installed without installation. The consequence of no installation is that the engine oil will be sticky quickly, and the cylinder piston will be bad quickly. It is at the bottom of the seat base.
Air breather filter is installed at the oil tank inlet, is used clean air flow inside and prevent particle outside for the hydraulic system. It must be installed. The hydraulic system and pump will be broken if it is clogged.
Might work until the motor sucks in enough dirt to ruin the rings. Also, that straight pipe is going to be so loud, the cops will soon be on your tail.
When there is a little dirty in short time, you can clean the air breather with reverse flow. Replace every 500-1000 hours. When the breather filter is dirty or Without breathing filters, the oil will deteriorate by condensation. The tank will oxidize, and on other components of the system will be damaged.
