Air Filter Housing
Air filter housing is the canister of the air filter element. Our housing is PET fiber material for heavy trucks mostly (Special polyester fiber replaces metal and plastic). We use Spiral wound technology, rather than making housing brackets. Anti media filters are encapsulated in a robust ABS plastic molded case so they don’t collapse like other designs. It is designed for long life, rust resistance and good looks!
Because of the advantages of engineering plastics, such as light weight, high production efficiency and low cost, more and more air filter housings are made of engineering plastics instead of metal materials. The housing we manufactured has a reinforced structure with simple design, reasonable layout and good technology, and the shell of air filter will not be deformed, which will not affect the installation and fixation of air filter. The more functions are:
1. Reduce the air inlet resistance as much as possible when the structure allows.
2. Provide better protection of engine components, longer service intervals and increased engine life. Especially the inside air filter replacment. The housing will help to filter out big size dust.
3. Direct Flow canister air filter is designed to meet Tier IV and equivalent requirements from engine manufacturers for more environmentally friendly engines. Extremely compact and with an extra prefilter for tough conditions.
4. Provide improved reliability, better durability and reduced weight
5. Mounting the unit directly to the engine is not recommended; excessive engine vibration can cause premature air cleaner structural failure
6. Protect the environment. Incineration of filter housing greatly reduces carbon dioxide emissions.
Parts and Accessories
Air filter Cover
Air filter covers are kits out there to modify your air filter allowing more air in, but still filtering it so no damage is done. The cover also keeps dirt out of the engine by filtering it through the air filter. Without the air being filtered, you’ll get dust and dirt of various kinds down inside the engine which will damage the engine over time.
Without the cover, you can get more air into the engine more quickly allowing it to run faster, but at the same time damaging the engine more.
Air filter Gauge
Air filter indicator offers the broadest and most comprehensive portfolio of air-intake monitoring technologies featuring multiple indicator types, mounting configurations and fitting styles. Mostly they are not only indicators, there are also switches and sensors.
Air filter cleaner Duckbill valve
It is also called vacuum suction valve, or dust discharge valve, or air cleaner box ash discharge valve. There is also an duckbill valve under the air filter canister, which is easy to be ignored. The function is to discharge the dust accumulated at the bottom of the air filter housing in time, so as to avoid the dust accumulating in the air filter housing and blocking the air filter element prematurely. If the dust valve is damaged, please replace it immediately! If the dust cannot be removed in time and effectively, the service life of the filter element will be shortened.
Our Features
1. Durable PET fiber housing — corrosion-free, vibration-resistant, long service life, lightweight and compact in size. 2. Easy to service, no tools needed — usually done in 5 minutes or less. It is used the easy-to-fasten latches retain dust cup/cover.
3. Accept filter service indicator.
4. A plastic inlet hood and stack may be added.
5. 45°Valve orientation permits either vertical or horizontal air cleaner mounting (the dust cup can be incrementally rotated to suit specific application).
6. Sure sealing system that creates a reliable, critical seal and makes servicing easy. Especially there is only one critical seal. Even in the extremely hot and cold application environment, the housing can be easily replaced and has absolute air tightness. It is radial sealing structure in air compress’ air filter housing.
7. Minimal removal clearance needed — only 38.1mm / 1.5i.

Plastic / Metal Air Cleaner. It is injection molded, high strength polymer service cover and a metal body (the service cover is accessed by latches)
Plastic Air Cleaner, Lightweight Air Cleaner with non-metal (for most part numbers), Injection and Blow-Molded Air Cleaners are total black plastic. It is lighter weight than metal air cleaners. Impact, mar and vibration resistant Polymer Coating Resists corrosion and chemical resistant.

C. Metal Air Cleaner, Superior Protection for Larger Engines. There is one Consistent coating thickness over the entire air filter housing, even in crevices and small, hard-to-reach places. This polymer painted coating lasts five to 10 times longer than traditional paint. It is also up to 17 times harder than most solvent-based paint. Corrosion, Impact, mar and chemical resistance.
Technical Requirement
(1) Appearance technical requirements (test method: visual inspection)
A. The product is complete, free of defects, deformation, surface scratch and scratch
B. The appearance brightness and color of the product are basically the same, no obvious hot and cold spots are allowed
C. There is no obvious concave convex phenomenon in the product, and there is no concave convex phenomenon in the key parts (refers to the air cleaner assembly place)
D. The product flash shall be trimmed neatly and clean, and no product repair is allowed
(2) Technical requirements for dimensions:
A. Plastic (injection) parts and supporting parts have the requirements of mounting hole size or other size requirements, which shall meet the requirements of supporting parts installation size or be inspected according to the drawing size. (test method: use special measuring instruments or vernier cards to test.)
B. The fitting size of the shell and cover of plastic (injection molding) parts shall be free of obstacles, without any difficulty in installation and any gap caused by product deformation after jointing. (test method: use special measuring tools to test)
C. For plastic (injection molding) parts with “insert”, it is required that the “insert” shall be installed at an accurate position, and plastic injection is not allowed in the “insert” (test method: vernier caliper and visual inspection)
FAQ
The dirt is dust mostly that we can see with our naked eyes. The other 80% was already filtered out by the filter housing!
The process of removing dust from the intake air is a two step process. The inlet filter housing is constructed in such a way that you get an ‘cyclone action’. This removes 80% of the dust. The remaining 20% is filtered out by the second step: the air filter.
It’s caused by engine leakage, there is a filter in the housing that you can change. There is also a hose running to the valve cover. When the oil from the engine comes out, it will go into the air filter firstly.
1)Remove the housing and sand the rust area until all the rust is gone.
2)Apply primer over the exposed metal and extend the primer over the sanded areas for corrosive protection.
3)Spray two to three even coats.Let dry and sand with 400 grit wet or dry sand paper with a lot of water
4)Apply a light coat of flat black over the primer so it will show the scratches when you sand.
Clean your filter housing with mild soap & water. It is actually recommended to cover the houing with oil then gently rinse. This allows the housing to catch fine dust particles. It may make sense to leave some oil on the filter. You could just rag wipe the inside of the housing.
Aftermarket intake systems don’t need to do anything unless you charge more (Turbo, Supercharger, etc). The only things you will notice are a better exhaust note, and you can hear the intake sometimes. Drilling holes will allow more airflow, but its going to be sucking in hot air from the engine bay, causing decreased performance and lower MPGs.
It will not hurt anything except you will go through air filters much faster from pulling dust from under the hood. On many model trucks, the housing still seal when installed upside down. Because there is a sure sealing system that creates a reliable, critical seal in the housing.
